Dario Fredrick is the founder and director of the Whole Athlete Performance Center. An exercise physiologist and expert bike fitter, he has worked with all levels of endurance athletes since 1994.
Dario created Whole Athlete to integrate the disciplines of exercise science, biomechanics, sport psychology, nutrition, and Yoga to help athletes take a holistic approach to optimal performance.
He is also the founder and director of the Whole Athlete/Specialized Cycling Team, a world-class Junior and U23 mountain bike development program.
An experienced athlete himself, Dario is a former Masters MTB National Champion (2009-2013 XC & 2012-2013 Marathon), Cat 1 road racer, collegiate swimmer and triathlete. Dario is also a longtime Yoga instructor with two decades of practice and study in the US and in India.
In applied sports science, Dario developed and validated a unique performance test protocol for cyclists. The performance test provides a valid and reliable measure of one's training zones using power measurement and heart rate. He has contributed to Velo News, Cyclingnews.com, Bicycling Magazine, and Yoga Journal, and served as the Physiological Advisor to the National Interscholastic Cycling Association and the NorCal High School MTB League.
