Land Shark Bicycles
Many of us recall Andy Hampsten's historic 1988 Giro d'Italia victory after surviving a brutal snowstorm over the Gavia Pass, but few know that he rode it on a Land Shark. Artist and artisan John Slawta creates some of the world's most beautiful and unique custom carbon bikes. If custom carbon is for you, Land Shark provides nearly infinite design and finish options.

"First, I love my new Firefly. It seemingly skates over the bumps in the road. Yes, I feel them, and there's that "springiness" that allows me to feel every aspect of the road. But there's a bit of a floating feeling as well, so I don't feel the harshness of the bumps quite as much.
The climbing is great. And the fork must be one of the reasons that the steering feels so precise. It's great to have both good control going downhill while also having the sense that I can dodge the smallest obstacles on the road. I think there's usually more of a trade off between downhill stability and steering precision. I feel like I have both."

"The break in the weather finally allowed me to get on the Land Shark yesterday and today, and I must thank you for the wonderful job you did of creating the perfect bike for me! What a difference -- it feels like an extension of my body; it's such a comfortable riding position, and the shifting is at the touch of a fingertip--so effortless, once I got the hang of it. I took my first ride out to W. Marin yesterday, about 25 miles, and today practiced basics on the Paradise Loop. I'm not even sore.
You are a genius! I'm sending my regards to John Slawa as well. The paint job is spectacular."
